ROGER FLETCHER - CARTOONIST! G'day,I'm an Aussie cartoonist, illustrator and writer living in Murwillumbah, northern NSW My comic strips are: TORKAN: A warrior fantasy that ran in The Sunday Telegraph and elsewhere from June 1976 until March 2019, the longest running Australian Adventure comic strip in history. and... STARIA: A tongue-in-cheek science fiction adventure that appeared in The Daily Telegraph from May 1980 until July 2013. The longest running Australian daily adventure comic strip in history. CROC BOYS: for Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo magazine, CRIKEY! for over five years. Like many cartoonists in Australia, I'm a jack-of-all-trades. In addition to comic strips, I do caricatures, both on commission and 'live' at weddings, parties and events. I've tutored a cartoon course for The Australian College of Journalism, run a drawing and cartooning course for The Parramatta Evening College and I conduct cartooning workshops for both children and adults in schools and libraries. I'll draw anything, anytime, anywhere for just about anyone. I'm a proud life-member of The Australian Cartoonists Association. I've won The Stanley Award for Best Illustrated/Adventure Strip or Comic Book five times and I've been a finalist every time I've entered. In 1999, I was awarded The Silver Stanley for Contribution to Australian Cartoon Art. Oh, and I write stuff, too! All this may sound like I'm bragging, but I'm really saying it just to let you know that I've been around for a long time and I'm pretty good at what I do. Welcome to my site - feel free to have a look around! The site is being overhauled right now and hopefully will be a nice place to visit and explore in the next little while! |
